The whole covid time was shocking for me, primarily because my daily schedule was changed completely. I only thought about online classes as a child when I didn’t want to go to school. LOL. After that, I never thought about it.
2020 was a crucial year for me because I was in class 12th and preparing for the famous and hyped exam- JEE. We had 2 attempts then, and I had to improve my score in the 2nd one. But before that, lockdowns were imposed, and classes started going online.
It was scary for me to change the way I studied back then. I thought online classes weren’t as good as offline ones. I was later proved wrong by myself and time.
Slowly, I adapted to the online learning mode and started noticing many of its benefits in learning.
- More time to study
- Saves money
- Possibility to learn at your own pace up to a greater extent than in offline classes.
- Less time-wastage than offline classes (including class noise, transportation, etc.)
- Having more time for hobbies
Note that the above advantages only hold true when you want to take advantage.
The benefits give a false impression that online classes are better than offline classes. I also thought the same, but later I realised that online classes are better for studies. Still, offline classes are better for holistic development. It is because real life should not be lived in a fixed room but between people, where we can learn managing people and other unignorable aspects of life. It teaches us how to be on our own to a greater level and forces us to learn necessary non-study skills. It means that offline too has a lot of benefits.
I have heard from most places that students are facing problems studying in online classes. I don't agree to this because it's a matter of self-discipline. Studying can be efficiently done in online classes. Many have done this and they aren't exceptions. As far distractions are concerned, students get distracted in offline classes, not through the internet but other things, such as mind-wandering during classes.
This perspective altered my view of seeing offline classes. And I want to conclude in 1 sentence: Though online classes are better for studying, that is one aspect of life, offline classes are better for all aspects of life.

We often encounter similar situations. It ranges in our daily habits. But there are times when we find ourselves in situations where we have some terrible experiences linked.
We often get scared or get reminded of our earlier mistakes in finding ourselves in such situations.
So, what should we do in such situations?
Accept that you are in a similar situation where you have choices. Then analyse what you did wrong and what we could have done correctly. It requires faith because correcting found mistakes is more challenging than spotting errors. It needs courage.
Finally, change your choices and thus make the similar bad situation a different and possibly better experience.
I know that the title seems wrong. But this is what I have observed in myself and the people around me.
I have often seen people quitting because they couldn’t understand a topic, including me. I didn’t accept I was doing it, but I did.
This is the step where many problems remain unsolved and accepted as our “capabilities,” which are less.
After doing it once, it does a chain reaction with other fields, in which we think that we can’t do that and then another too.
On another end of the spectrum, as an application of this fact, people continue reading subjects, regardless of whether they understand them or not, just to say in their inner self that they are trying. This will not do any good because you are continuously not understanding the topic.
So, understand more. It will solve most problems in your life.

Meeting new
people is crucial. When we restrict ourselves to a fixed number of people, we
won’t know what qualities we lack. In this case, your judgement about your
abilities becomes predictable after some time. It is because when you only see
yourself working well (according to your set parameters), then there is a
probability that you will have a feeling of superiority. But when you are in
the company of many people and see some working well in a field. Then, your
assumption is proved false. Then, you can learn from them and try to improve.
Also, we
tend to miss and forget many things, but some people don’t. So, being in their
company can remind you of those.
By meeting
new people, I don’t mean prioritizing it over everything. I also don’t mean
that we should keep more and more people in our lives, but those who possess
valuable qualities. I know that very few people work seriously for their aims.
It’s just that meeting more people increases our probability of meeting them.
If you are
in college, then the best way to do this is to take part in a college fest.
Another way is using social networking sites wisely to find them and learn more
from their ideas.

There is a
very high probability that you have heard this before. Earlier, I thought that
destination is more important than former because we want something and working
for it is the best way to get it. The times in which we are working for it has
to be painful to get it. Later, after getting a few desired successes, I
realized that the happiness it gives is momentary that is sometimes
infinitesimally smaller than the time devoted to work for it. So, if the
preparation time is not good, then you are going to regret it later.
What does enjoying the journey means?
The word
‘enjoy’ is often misunderstood. People visualize parting, dancing, etc., when
they encounter this word. But it is more than that.
You enjoy
the journey when you take small breaks during preparation consisting of
resting, laughing, pursuing hobbies. More importantly, it lies in appreciating
yourself for working smart and hard, even when nobody else did. It also lies in
thinking about the upcoming work.
An analogous
incident, which might sound funny
I watched
web series and became desperate to know what would happen next. I only wanted
it to reach the ending and didn’t pay attention to episodes in between Here,
the episodes in between are analogous to the journey and the final episode to
the ending. It means that I was not enjoying the journey. When I realized this
and started watching one by paying attention to all episodes, I liked it more.
